How to Write Classified Ads That Get Replies

Start with a title that says exactly what you offer

Most people scroll a listing page quickly and read only the title before deciding to open an ad. A good title names the item or service, the most important detail, and the place. "Room for rent near Nugegoda junction, attached bathroom" tells a reader far more than "Room available".

Avoid writing the whole title in capital letters, repeating the same word, or adding symbols just to stand out. These make an ad look like spam and readers tend to skip it.

Write the description a buyer would ask for

Use real, clear photos

The first photo is the one shown in the listing, so choose the clearest one for it.

Choose the right category and district
